Let Go, Let God

"Faith like a mustard seed, can move mountains."

When was the last time you really stepped out in faith, and gave it all to God? I think this is a cliche question that many Christians have asked each other. Are we reading between the words here? What does it really mean?

Today, it meant to me that to fully let God do His work, we step back. How back? All back. Today, I left a friend, because God convicted me that the type of witnessing I was doing was not really the right thing at the moment. I was trying to do things my way, trying to hide away hindrances. But no, when waiting for that child, Sarah and Abraham in Genesis tried to do things their way, which was getting their servantgirl to have Ishmael for them. But what was that result? And what happened because Sarah laughed, and didn't believe? Resulted in some bad consequences later on. But it was because humans had tried to do things on their own. Their own way.

Why do we tend to limit such a BIG and INFINITE God? Who created all, gave all, and planned all? Why the heck are we trying to butt our way in and think it'd be better? God doesn't need us to do His work. So today, I've decided to throw off those hindrances, and because "You are in a great cloud of witnesses" and running to a goal. I've found out that I've been one of those hindrances. So, for my friend's sake, I decided to leave. And to let God take care of the rest.

I'm praying I'm praying ....

That takes courage. And a heckofalot of trust that God really does take care of His children. Good for you for letting go! Keep praying.

hey Tobz,

Thanks for that nice encouragement reminding us that sometimes we have to step back and let God take control. I know what you mean when you say there are times we try to take control of the situation and it doesn't seem to be working very well... i think we all do that quite a bit.

I've had moment where I stopped worrying, thinking I am going to change a person and a week later, what do you know, the person accepted Christ from his cousin that was a youth pastor.. all the way in China.. can you believe that? haha.. I think God placed me in their path to start preparing him for what he was going to hear when he got to HK but that's seriously amazing eh?

All ends well... and I guess we have to remember that God knows how much we can handle and what is best for all of us. So if we're getting exhausted and discouraged because a person isn't hearing what we are trying to get across to them, we should just sit back, evaluate what might have been the problem and just relax and let God do His will. =)

I gotta jet so I'll see you at fellowship tonight! =)
