Identity?
"We talk about the second coming ... half of the world hasn't even heard of the first." - Oswald ChambersSo that was quite the eventful day ... Friday morning to struggle out of the house, ACAD show visit in the afternoon, exam for 3 hours, stupid fire drill, then booking it over to Impact, then back to SAIT for some preparation of the stuff we were giving out to the homeless, then back to church for prayer and book study, then Timmy's, then finally back home!
But I had some good time for devos ... actually, today and yesterday has been the rollercoaster for me, but yet again, do I ever learn SO much.
so Carly talked about Identity today during Impact, and I was really encouraged by some of the things that were mentioned. Identity was not tied to anything that affected you externally, but as being the clay, letting Big Daddy being the potter. Don't let other things define you. Sometimes we limit our options by just going towards doing something we were gifted to do. But no! We can be transformed, or used in someother way and onto other paths, only if we let ourselves be led by God. God changed people's name in the Bible, eg. Abram, Saul because they had an encounter with Him. Don't set a 'Christian standard' or don't determine your growth solely just on results.
"... what drew me to the love that pursued me..."
Listened to Starfield today, haven't listened to them for soooooooooooooooo long. What still tips me over is "Cry of My Heart" as it says, "What in this life, could mean any more."
To glorify is to magnify ...

word. sweet post.
sang starfield today at church (unedited @ westside kings) and switchfoot's dareYouToMove (edit: kinda lying, not my church anymore after moving...). dillon's band from New Hope played.
a production meeting this summer (fancy-shmancy name for "review service game plan and pray"), the guy speaking that night said he got to church and thought it was a CD till he saw dillon's band practicing. they've also played coldplay's yellow for worship before.
great service tonight (different series at night than other 3 services) totally made me rethink heaven and hell.
That's interesting...I have often thought that God has another name for us and sometimes I pray, "God, who am I? Tell me who I am to You..."
So much could change if we just knew who we were in Christ :)
Hmmm...sorry forgot to mention that those thoughts were inspired by John Elderedge's "Wild at Heart"..great read! :)
