Soooo I just came back from Vancouver, and wowie was it ever relaxing. For sleeping, I had oodles and oodles of it, and it was quite nice. Riding the BC ferry over to Powell River was nice too, sitting at the front with the fresh breeze and passing by mountainous looking islands. I got to see the Fireworks competition on the English Bay with one of my good friends, laying out on the sand and watching the sky light up in brilliant blaze ... that night was China and was it ever packed for the audience. It was like Red Mile all over again, with people crawling all over the streets in a hurry to find good spots or a good place in getting home. 150,000 was the attendance, I believe, for that night. What I found neat was when the helicopter came by and shone its white search light on everyone ... just like the movies :PI got some major reading done too, a book that has been waiting a long time to be read ... and a good time to freely ponder. A picture taking time reminded me the fun things you can get outta little things ... something I used to really enjoy ... hehe I'll post them up soon.
Something from a book I am reading at this moment:
"Feeding Your Appetites - Take Control of what's Controlling You!" -Stephen Arterburn
It talks about the distractions in life - aside from physical food, and how they take control and why.
Here's a neat quote:
"Sow a thought, and you reap an action;
sow an action, and you reap a habit;
sow a habit, and you reap a character,
sow a character, and you reap a destiny."
- Charles Reade
Jon Chui and I talked a lot about how this past year has been. For me it's been a lot, for him, I guess he was undecided. Well, the year hasn't ended yet, there's still about less than half left. I know there's a lot in store ... It's kinda funny though, we haven't really changed much at all. He says I've matured a whole bunch, but yikes, do I ever feel like a kid still. But hey, randomizing and spontanety still happens for us both, and being amazed by the things of the world brings us inspiration. Jon's bike is quite the beauty for the price, I'm still needing to get a license for a car ... hehe and I remember how I always wanted to be a biker chick too ... it IS dangerous though ...
SAIT's coming around the corner for me and I'm excited like no other. I did get to see an advertisement for a Christian Club, it's called "Christ on campus" I think? They had an interesting quote saying, "Prayer is not learned in the classroom, but in the closet." At first I was like, "???" But thinking it over I interpret it as the closet symbolizing - 'secret' It's a nice feeling to know that God wants privacy with us. It makes it the more intimate.

Hey ... that's interesting. Mel from Abe? Now she's an awesome girl, such a sweetie. Does the years ever pass fast. Now Sim, I really think you should get a blog ... you write ..... so much!
hey psst! I added you to msn ... where are you?
haha, sorry for the msn hiding. i might go on on a few times a year on average (actually i have gone on more, now that my sis is on a lot and has downloaded the newer versions which have the 'sign in as appear offline' option).
it's a viscious (haha i exagerate, but you probably get the point) cycle of not going on for six years -> so i don't want to take three hours to catch up with all my highschool buddies (went to a close knit, super tight, small highschool - wait, you probably already know from talking to my sis) -> so i don't go on -> cuz i don't want to take so long...
i'll fire you an email soon though.
